Creations Celebrates Two Years in Business, Giving Back
By Vanessa Pereira, Communications Coordinator
Voted one of the Top 3 gift stores on the shoreline in the-e-list’s 2017 “Best of the Shoreline Reader’s Poll,” Creations is celebrating two years in Madison—and most importantly, a second year of giving back to the community.
A social enterprise of Vista Life Innovations— a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the personal success of individuals with disabilities— Creations features regionally sourced gifts for him, her, home and children from over 180 independent makers. All proceeds from Creations support the programs and services of Vista.
But beyond selling unique gifts, Creations has spent the last two years cultivating partnerships and relationships with other local organizations. Among them, the store teamed up with the Madison Art Society to feature a revolving collection of art by Madison Art Society members. The collection of featured works rotates seasonally, allowing for new artists to be showcased.
Creations also regularly hosts fundraising shopping days where 15 percent of proceeds over a designated period are donated back to a specific organization. Beneficiaries have included the Madison Newcomers Club, the Daniel Hand High School VIBE show choir, Scranton Memorial Library, and The Kate.
As a proud and active member of the Madison business community, Creations hosts meetings of local civic organizations and networking events of the Madison Chamber of Commerce.
The retail boutique recently expanded its community offerings this summer with the launch of Kids’ Creations, affordable art classes for children ages 8 to 12. These classes were formed as a result of feedback provided by area parents who expressed an interest in art classes for their children.
